What is My Purpose in This Life?
The question of life’s purpose is indeed the billion-pound question. How do we know what our purpose is? If I told you it was really simple—that you were born to be you and nobody else—would that help? The truth is, many of us are so far detached from our true selves that we don’t even know what we like without seeking approval. Finding out who you are and what you like is definitely key, but it’s really not that hard to do so. Trust me.
How Can I Find Myself?
You might think finding yourself requires a grand journey, like going to a retreat, doing a week of silence, or trekking in the Himalayas. But let’s be honest, not many of us can take that time out. So here’s the best option I can suggest without needing to spend a lot of money or even leave the house if you don’t want to: establish a daily practice.
What is a Daily Practice?
A daily practice is something you do every day that helps you connect with your true self. Ideally, it involves movement and breath to remove stagnant energy, creating a sense of meditation that allows you to see the panoramic vision of your life rather than keep hitting the rocks on the ground.
Practices I Recommend
Here are a few practices that can help you find clarity and cultivate awareness:
- Kundalini Yoga – This practice combines physical postures, breathwork, meditation, and chanting to awaken your inner energy and promote spiritual enlightenment.
- Qi Gong – An ancient Chinese practice that involves coordinated movements, breath control, and meditation to cultivate and balance your life energy (Qi).
- Tai Chi – Often described as “meditation in motion,” Tai Chi is a form of martial arts that focuses on slow, deliberate movements, breath control, and mindfulness.
These practices work with your life energy and stretch through acupressure points to release stagnant energy. They are excellent for finding clarity because they provide a space for awareness to cultivate.
How Do These Practices Work?
Kundalini Yoga
Focuses on awakening the kundalini energy located at the base of the spine. It combines dynamic breathing techniques, postures, and meditative practices to bring about spiritual transformation and enlightenment.
Qi Gong
Involves rhythmic breathing, slow and deliberate movements, a calm mindful state, and visualization of energy flow. It’s designed to improve mental and physical health by promoting the flow of Qi (life energy).
Tai Chi
Incorporates gentle, flowing movements that are performed with a high degree of focus and relaxation. It’s known for reducing stress, improving balance and flexibility, and enhancing overall health.
Personal Experience
I have practiced both Qi Gong and Kundalini Yoga, and I can honestly say that they have fundamentally changed not just my life but the lives of others around me too. These practices have helped me gain clarity, reduce stress, and connect more deeply with my true self.
