Times when something within us simply knows — even when we cannot beautifully or logically explain why.
And there are times when we don’t know at all.
You Are Your Own Guru is a free community where different experiences, perspectives and questions can meet.
Not one teaching.
Not one modality.
Not one person holding the answer.
A conversation around truth, intuition, the body, energy, purpose — and the magnificent complexity of being HuMan.

Where It All Began
You Are Your Own Guru began as a book, but the conversation was always bigger than the pages.
For more than twenty years, my work has moved through the body, movement, nutrition, energy, breath, meditation, communication and the extraordinary ways we experience being HuMan.
Different disciplines.
Different perspectives.
Different chapters of my own life.
I have never believed that one teaching holds every answer.
I feel my way through so much of life. There are moments when I simply know. There are others when I question, explore or seek another perspective.
And sometimes the most interesting part isn’t the answer somebody else gives me.
It’s what happens within me when I hear it.
That curiosity sits at the heart of this community.
A place where different perspectives can exist without one becoming the authority over another person’s experience.
What We Explore
Truth
The relationship we have with who we are, what we believe, what we question and what feels true within our own experience.
Intuition
The many ways knowing — or not knowing — may be experienced. Physical, emotional, intellectual, difficult to describe, or perhaps not related to the idea of intuition at all.
The Body
Our extraordinary Body Tech. Movement, sensation, breath, energy, nervous system, nourishment and the different ways we experience life through a physical body.
Energy
From ancient traditions to lived experience, curiosity and the different lenses through which energy has been understood.
Purpose
Not one calling or one predetermined destination. An open conversation around what purpose might mean within very different lives.
Being HuMan
Relationships. Change. Identity. Creativity. uncertainty. Joy. Loss. Contradiction. Connection. And everything that doesn’t fit neatly beneath a heading.
Inside The Community
The community is still young — and that is part of its beauty.
It will evolve through the people, questions and conversations that become part of it.
